Angela Macleod I studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art from 1991-1995 and after several years of working outside of the art world, only being able to paint in my spare time, I have recently moved to Crail and grabbed the chance to return to painting full time. I paint mainly in oil and colour has always been the main focus of my work. I use a variety of subject matter usually taken from nature to explore the effects of different colour combinations, shape and pattern to create bold and vibrant expressions that reflect the beauty and energy of the subject. My current work builds on my interest in colour and form in nature and sees me painting flowers and shells, the latter definitely inspired by my recent move to the coast. I aim to use composition, colour and layering, to highlight different aspects of the subject matter in each painting whether it be the shape and pattern of shells or the vitality and splendour of flowers. All of my work can be viewed on my website www.angelamacleod.com
