Lesley Geyer-Brooks

After bringing up my family I now have more time for art and have just completed a very enjoyable year studying for an HNC at Elmwood College in Creative Industries (art and illustration)

My recent work reflects a love of nature, whether it be a landscape or a tree study, I love to see the shapes that nature produces and the elegance that is found in trees and landscape in general.  My work is from the memory of seeing a scene that has caught my eye on the passing or made up from a series of scenes, I do not copy as I feel this inhibits the spontaneity. I enjoy experimenting with mixed media, especially using pencil, ink and oil pastels in conjunction with acrylic paint.  I particularly admire the work of Anna King, and many more Scottish Contemporary artists too many to name. I am really thrilled to be exhibiting at Pittenweem this year.  Lesley Geyer Brooks lesleygeyerbrooks@hotmail.co.uk
