Steve Wrightson

Steve L Wrightson has taken after his sister Marie Louise Wrightson who is a successful oil painter artist. Steve has already made his mark in the artworld. His first exhibition in the outside world was here at the Pittenweem Art Gallery in August 2008 from the start of the annual Pittenweem arts festival.
 
Steve's already qualified as an interior decorator and now he offers his services making bespoke glass tile and mixed media mosaics of the highest standard. He certainly is gifted and a pleasure to have around. His artistery is precise, exciting and fresh, even down to the finishing touches such as framing. A picture on this site does not do justice to his work, bearing in mind his work is 3D.

Nautical themes were exhibited here at Pittenweem. Quite fitting for the East Neuk of Fife. Steve L Wrightson is truly an artist and craftsman. Above Steve has captured the life of seabirds in the "Beach babe and the beach bum enjoying the sun, sea & surf". Below, we have the Gannet "soaking up the sun at the Bass Rock" and "the cute wee puffin gliding on the summer breeze"

On the right, Steve explores life under the sea with this beautiful mosaic of a starfish. The web doesn't do it justice really. These works just have to be seen.

While exhibiting in the Elmwood College's Art Exhibition, Maggie Wright spotted Steve's work and invited him to exhibit here in Pittenweem. Since then he has gone on from strength to strength. Steve has exhibited at the SECC in Glasgow and The Queen's Gallery in Dundee. He has two principal galleries in Fife in which he shows his mosaics - Art Room 59 in Dunfermline & The Ceres Gallery in Ceres. This year he has shown in The Opus Mosaic Gallery in Exerter & The Coast Festival of the Visual Arts in Macduff & Banff, in which he had a very successful show.
